About Summer Camps
Each summer, Central Florida Community Arts offers a variety of exciting summer camps for children and teens! From creative drama camps for younger children to advanced performance camps for older children and teens, these theatre camps are designed to meet the students where they are. A fun, encouraging environment gives youth in the Central Florida area the opportunity to explore the performing arts, work with talented, professional directors and choreographers, make new friends, and grow as a performer. Join us this summer!
CFCArts is a Florida Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES, formerly Gardiner Scholarship) provider, and the FES can be used to cover program tuition! CFCArts financial assistance is limited and can be applied for in your student’s registration form (see below). Email theatre@cfcarts.com with any questions.
Placement is determined based on rising grade level for the coming school year. (Example: A student currently in 1st grade should register for camps for rising 2nd grade.)
Teen Summer Camp Volunteers
Each summer, teenage students with a passion for theatre and education are welcome to apply to volunteer as camp assistants! Interviews are required to sign up for a volunteer opportunity, as well as a letter of recommendation from an adult who has supervised your student’s leadership abilities if your student has not been enrolled in a CFCArts program within the last calendar year. Email theatre@cfcarts.com to apply.

Tuition Payments
Summer Camp dues may be paid in full or in installments as you prefer. Summer Camp spots are not held until CFCArts receives an initial deposit of $50 per half-day camp and $75 per full-day camp.
- A deposit is required to reserve your student’s space in the camp. The deposit goes towards the total dues owed.
- 50% of owed tuition is due no later than four weeks prior to the first date of a camp.
- 100% of owed tuition are due no later than two weeks prior to the first date of a camp.
Late Enrollment
Any members registering less than four weeks prior to a camp will owe 50% of owed tuition at registration, and members registering less than two weeks prior to a camp will owe 100% of owed tuition at registration.
Refund Policy
Members that have paid part or all of their camp tuition dues may reach out to us at theatre@cfcarts.com to request a refund. Payments originally made via cash or check will be refunded via check mailed to the member’s address provided to us during summer camp registration. Payments originally made via card will be refunded to the original form of payment. All refunds will be initiated by CFCArts within 1 week of receipt. Processing times of refunds via online platforms or mailed via USPS vary, but may take up to 10 business days.
- If a student withdraws more than two weeks before a camp begins, they are eligible for a refund, minus the deposit paid on the camp
- If a student withdraws less than two weeks before a camp begins, they are not eligible for a refund, but may transition all tuition paid to another CFCArts Youth Theatre program in 2026.
- If a student withdraws after the camp begins, they are not eligible for a refund of any tuition paid.
Dress Code
Advised attire may vary a bit per camp, but in general:
- Either dance (jazz or ballet) or athletic shoes are required. Shoes must be full-soled and enclose the entire foot, and be secure to the foot.
- No restrictive attire, open-toed shoes, flip-flops/sandals, heels, or skirts/dresses without leggings or shorts beneath.
If this varies for your student’s camp for any reason, you will be informed in advance.
Please note that, due to safety concerns, students who arrive to camp without proper attire may not be able to participate fully until proper attire is brought for them.
Food
No food is provided to students in accordance with our safety procedures.
- For students who are only registered for only 1 half-day (9 AM-12 PM or 1-4 PM) camp, students are asked to bring a nut-free, low-mess lunch snack that does not require refrigeration or microwaving.
- For students in a full-day camp or who are attending both a morning and an afternoon camp, students are required to bring a nut-free, low-mess lunch and snack that does not require refrigeration or microwaving.
- If your student is present for a camp and/or aftercare program past 12 PM and does not have a lunch, and a parent or guardian cannot bring one in a timely manner, please note that your family may be charged the cost of a lunch and transportation for a staff member to go and purchase food for your student.
What to Bring
Please see above for food requirements. In addition:
- Students should bring a water bottle labeled with their name, to avoid mix-ups.
- Students may bring a change of shoes if they do not want to wear their dance or athletic shoes to camp.
- If students will be bringing a cell phone, they must bring a small personal bag to keep it in, turned off, during camp unless permission has been granted otherwise by the Teaching Artist or other staff member.
- For younger students who may be prone to “accidents”, we recommend packing a change of clothes just in case!
Visitor Policy
In accordance with our safety procedures, no children who are not registered for camp, and no adults who are not background checked and cleared by CFCArts, may be inside our camp space with the exception of the end of camp showcase for applicable camps. Most (but not all) camps do culminate in a showcase on the final day prior to the camp’s end time; further information about that will be sent in a pre-camp email about 1 week prior to the start of camp. Please note that some camps do not culminate in a showcase. If offered for your student’s camp, any family or friends may attend the showcase (we may or may not ask for an RSVP attendance so we can adequately prepare seating, depending on the camp.)
Auditioned production camps culminating in a fully produced show will have tickets for sale open to the general public. There may or may not be opportunities for family members to volunteer in exchange for a complimentary ticket, depending on the needs of the show. Otherwise, anyone wishing to see the production will need to purchase tickets. Families needing ticket assistance, reach out to theatre@cfcarts.com.
Check-Out Policy
If a parent is not present by 5 minutes past the camp ending time and the student is not enrolled in aftercare, a parent will be called, the student will be sent to aftercare if applicable.
- If aftercare is available, the family may be charged for aftercare for the day ($15 per student.)
- If aftercare is not available and/or if the pick-up time runs past 6 PM, the family may be charged $1 per minute after the five-minute grace period, as our staff will need to be paid extra to wait with the student.
Please note that official photo identification must be shown at check out until you are well-known to our staff, and even then, be sure to bring your ID in case a volunteer or sub who does not know you is running check out. The name on your photo ID must match a name listed on your student’s pre-program paperwork. If it does not, we will need confirmation via phone from a legal parent or guardian before the student can be released, and this may result in late pickup charges as detailed above.
If you wish to add names to your student’s paperwork after it has been submitted, email the name, phone number, and relationship to your student to theatre@cfcarts.com and allow up to 2 business days for the change to take effect.
Attendance Policy
Students are expected to arrive and leave camp promptly at the start and end times. If a student has not arrived within 5 minutes of their camp start time, we will call a parent or guardian. Please note the following:
- Due to our safety procedures, students may not “come and go” as they please.
- Prior conflicts must be disclosed at least 2 business days in advance for regular camps, and absences may affect a student’s participation in the showcase if there is one.
- For auditioned camps culminating in a full production, absences are far more serious and any conflicts must be properly communicated before your student’s audition or your student may not be able to take part in the production or camp.
- Refunds will not be issued if your student’s attendance, once a camp has begun, affects their ability to take part in the camp, showcase, or show.
Bathroom Policy
Students are permitted to use the bathroom whenever necessary.
- For rising grades PreK4 through 2, bathroom breaks are always supervised and are incorporated into the camp day with regularity (but students may use the bathroom outside of those breaks as needed, still supervised.)
- For rising grades 3 and up, students may use the bathroom independently as long as they let a staff member know when and where they are going so we can keep track of our students’ whereabouts for safety purposes. If students prove themselves unable to responsibly use the bathroom unsupervised, supervision and/or the buddy system may be implemented.
- If your student has a need to use the restroom frequently, please let us know.
- Students must be potty trained and out of diapers in order to attend camp.
Safety Procedures
CFCArts holds the safety of all students and staff as our highest priority. Therefore:
- No adults who are not fully background checked and cleared by CFCArts may be inside our camp space, with the exception of the end of camp showcase or shows for applicable camps.
- All external doors that may lead to camp spaces are locked during camp hours, unless manned by a CFCArts staff member or cleared volunteer.
- All adult staff members and volunteers are background checked and go through a rigorous youth policy training prior to being permitted on any campus.
- All adult staff members and volunteers must wear a CFCArts-issued photo ID badge whenever on campus to identify them as a safe person.
- For unknown parent/guardians, photo IDs are checked at check-out against the parent/guardian’s submitted pick-up list.
