About the Big Band

Our Big Band is a non-auditioned ensemble of more than 30 musicians! We embrace all of our musicians that range from come-back players after a long hiatus to educators to retirees to those that gig regularly around Central Florida. And all have found a place to call home with our ensemble!

We have performed a wide variety of music that has spanned from traditional swing to funk to rock to latin, and of course we always incorporate some fun charts around the holiday season too! This is one of our most frequently performing adult ensembles with multiple featured performances per year, and some community gigs as well at local holiday events, jazz festivals, art walks, and more!

Whether you have been playing for years, haven’t played in years, or anything in between, we encourage you to come and join us. We welcome all instrumentalists into our community and would love to have you on stage with us at our next performance! Registration for Spring 2024 Big Band is closed at this time, and we are hard at work preparing for our upcoming performance of Big Hits from the Box Office. Please fill out the Big Band interest form to stay informed the next time our season registrations are open!

Performance

Join the CFCArts Big Band for a fun, funky, and fantastic tribute to some of the greatest songs from our favorite movies! From jazz to funk to rock to unforgettable ballads, the music is what makes the characters, scenes and moments spring to life on the big screen. Including a wild range of songs and energy—from "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to "Live and Let Die" and from "Gonna Fly Now" to "Mr. Blue Sky"—enjoy music and moments from films like Rocky, Jumanji, Despicable Me, The Blues Brothers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Whiplash, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and more!

Hot on the heels of sold-out concerts like Hand-Drawn Jazz and Ghoulish Grooves, the biggest Big Band in town knows how to put on a great show. Come relive your favorite movie moments in their next concert celebration!

Dues

Dues will be for all music, rehearsals, community performances, and performances for our Big Band from now through May 2024. Please see pricing below:
