Middle and High School Advanced Performance Camp

Students in our Advanced Performance Camp, admitted by audition only, will develop high-level acting skills as they rehearse and prepare for a ticketed production of Shakespeare’s classic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream open to the public! Students will take on thrilling roles, from the trickster spirit Puck to the graceful fairy queen Titania, in this comedic, imaginative, and uplifting production.  PLEASE NOTE: Auditions are required to enroll in this camp, which is open to advanced teenage performers, and not all students will be selected for this advanced camp. How to prepare for auditions:

  • Fill out your student’s registration form for January 12-13 or March 1-2.
  • Headshots and resumes are encouraged (but not required) and can be emailed to theatre@cfcarts.com at least 24 hours prior to your audition in PDF, JPG, or PNG format. If emailed late or in a different format, we may not be able to access your resume. Please do not bring hard copies to your audition.
  • All auditioners will participate in cold readings and/or monologues from a variety of productions. The scripts will be made available before auditions. Students do not need to memorize any part of the script or prepare a monologue.
  • Please bring a water bottle. Food and gum are not permitted.
  • Dance or athletic shoes required. No restrictive attire, open-toed shoes, flip-flops/sandals, heels, or skirts/dresses without leggings or shorts beneath.
  • Auditions, as well as rehearsals, are closed to parents and other visitors. For safety reasons, only students and approved staff/volunteers are permitted.
  • Students may choose to attend our Audition Prep Workshops on January 10 or February 28, 5:30-7:30 PM at our audition and rehearsal location of First Congregational Church of Winter Park (225 S Interlachen Ave, Winter Park FL 32789.). Students will gain familiarity with the shows and characters, have the opportunity to participate in a mock acting audition and receive feedback, and participate in a Q&A session with casting staff. You can register your student for the Audition Prep Workshop on their Registration Form.

Times: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (check-in from 8:45-9 a.m. | aftercare available until 6 p.m. for an additional fee)
Location: July 8-19 First Congregational Church of Winter Park Campus (225 S Interlachen Ave, Winter Park 32789), July 22-27 Trinity Preparatory Black Box Theater (5700 Trinity Prep Lane Winter Park 32792)
Tuition: $500 per student
Financial Assistance and Payment Plan Options are available as part of the registration process.

Performance Schedule:
Friday, July 26, 7 p.m. (normal camp day, then stay through the show)
Saturday, July 27, 2 p.m. (call time 12 p.m., supervised break between shows)
Saturday, July 27, 7 p.m. (required strike immediately following 7 p.m. show until latest 10 p.m.)
