A Word from the Director (click to expand)

Joshua VickeryThank you for taking the time to learn more about us! Central Florida Community Arts, a non-profit arts organization, is making a HUGE difference in our community. We exist to give every artist of every age a cultural platform to connect, serve and perform, while advancing the arts in Central Florida. We are now the home to a 270-voice community choir, 70-piece community orchestra, a full children/youth arts program with 80 kids, and Legacy!, a pro-level ensemble whose members serve as vocal ambassadors to our community.

We have recently opened the CFCArts School of Performing Arts in our new home downtown — the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts building, where we share space with the wonderful Orlando Ballet. Here we will host private music instruction of all disciplines, workshops, and dance classes. Even though our patron base continues to grow with 3200 attendees at one of our most recent concerts, the heartbeat of why we exist is still to serve our community through the arts by partnering with other local non-profits and charities to bring the arts to them at no cost!

We invite you to explore this site to learn more about becoming a patron, volunteer, member, or donor, and would the love the opportunity to give you a tour of our facility and answer any questions about our programs!  I love our mission and we are clear and concise about our goals and our future!

These are exciting days at Central Florida Community Arts! Will you join us?

— Joshua Vickery
Executive Director of CFCArts

Since February of 2011, our choir has grown from 140 voices to nearly 275 and our concert themes have run the gamut from Disney to patriotic to Christmas to classical to Broadway. Our organization is non-denominational and our choir is non-auditioned, so anyone age 18+ can join.

Choir members who join our upcoming Summer Classical Season will be performing Mozart’s Requiem. Conducted by Jacob Haines, this concert of Mozart’s final work will include the backing of a full chamber orchestra. To join our choir for the summer, just click below, fill out an application, and pay the season due (we take cash, check, credit/debit, and PayPal). Then get ready to have a lot of fun with the best community choir in Central Florida! We look forward to meeting you soon!

The Central Florida Community Arts orchestra was established in the Fall of 2011. Our performances are designed to entertain our audience several times a year, while challenging our performers on a weekly basis. We play a repertoire that ranges from Rossini and Copland to The Planets and The Lord of the Rings. Members of our orchestra have accompanied the CFC Arts choir for their major concerts and summer Broadway performances, playing for over 2500 patrons at a time. Our members have also formed several small ensembles including a string quartet, a flute choir, and a brass quintet and brass ensemble, providing new performance opportunities and allowing our orchestra to increase our community outreach efforts.

What makes our 65-piece orchestra stand out from the rest is that it is a non-auditioned entity for players age 16 and over. From amateurs to professionals, our orchestra is about music and the love of playing in a community setting. If you play regularly or are simply looking for a place to re-start after years away from playing, we welcome you to join us today.

The Children and Youth Arts program was designed to train and educate young performers through musical theater to become skilled in the areas of singing, acting and dancing. The goal of this program is not only to provide the young people of Central Florida a place to use their artistic talents, but also to be a venue for our children and youth to learn the value of giving back to the Community, through the gift of music. The performers participate in community events throughout the season, plus the directors of the groups use the funds raised during each performance to provide summer music camps to underprivileged children in our community. Now in its 3rd season, the Children and Youth Arts program has grown into an artistic community where each young performer (Kindergarten through 12th grade) is given the tools needed to become a successful, confident artist and the means to carry those skills throughout life.
