Into the Woods
The beloved Broadway story follows a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them with disastrous results.
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim bring everyone’s favorite storybook characters together for a timeless fairytale with a twist. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching, brought to life in this exciting production by CFCArts Youth Theatre Troupe.
Our Youth Theatre Troupe represents the most advanced level of performance we offer. Last year, the Troupe performed Mary Poppins to five sold-out audiences and A Christmas Carol: The Musical to three packed houses!
CFCArts is proud to provide an artistic home for hundreds of young performers each year of all ages and abilities.
The Into the Woods cast features 25 talented and passionate performers (and nearly a third are graduating seniors!) who are bringing this fractured fairy tale to life onstage – and offstage, and maybe sometimes right next to you!
But beware – all may not be as it seems at this theatrical outing! Keep a careful eye out for the magic that may happen all around you. A beanstalk may sprout right next to your chair! A golden braid may descend from a tower just above you! A handsome prince on his noble steed – or a devilish wolf on the prowl – might just pass you in the aisle. And who’s that mysterious guy lurking around? As they say, “anything can happen in the woods.” Take that to heart!
We hope to see you there!
