About the Symphony Orchestra
Over the past decade, the Central Florida Community Arts Symphony Orchestra has grown from our humble beginnings to an orchestra that consistently boasts performances with close to 300 non-auditioned musicians! While our members and audiences can come and enjoy rich, traditional orchestral music, our Symphony Orchestra expands the experience beyond your wildest imagination of what an orchestra concert will be with music ranging from those time-honored melodies to powerful movie music to show-stopping Broadway tunes and more! (Past performances have included Symphonic Disney and Classic(al) Rock to name a few!) And just as we do not limit our repertoire, we do not limit our instrumentation either. We love the opportunity to have a wider range of instrumentation – including a strong saxophone section – than is more common in an orchestral setting!
Beyond our major orchestral productions each year, we regularly partner with our Community Choir, theater productions, and local community partners to provide smaller portions of our ensembles with even more incredible opportunities to take the stage! In 2022 alone, our orchestras have partnered with our Community Choir, our summer theater show, the Dr. Phillips Center in the grand opening of their new Steinmetz Hall, local powerhouse Cece Teneal, and our friends with University of Central Florida Choirs.
Whether you have been playing for years, haven’t played since your school days, or anything in between, we encourage you to come and join us. We welcome all instrumentalists into our community and would love to have you on stage with us at our next performance! Please email orchestra@cfcarts.com, and our team will reach out to you to help answer your questions and get you started with us!
