Students in our Advanced Performance Camp, admitted by audition only, will develop high-level acting skills as they rehearse and prepare for a ticketed production of Peter and the Starcatcher open to the public! Students will take on thrilling roles, from the villainous (and hilarious) Black Stache to the brave and bold Molly, in this comedic, imaginative, and uplifting production. PLEASE NOTE: Auditions are required to enroll in this camp, which is open to advanced teenage performers. Auditions: Create a video recording of yourself performing at least 2 show monologues (click here for monologues and script.) Optionally, you may include a video of you singing at least 30 seconds of a musical theatre song (with an accompaniment/karaoke track only - no background vocals, no a cappella!). Don’t just sit there “waiting on a miracle” this summer – join us for a musical theatre camp that’s sure to be Extra Enchanted! Just like “the family Madrigal”, campers will learn to embrace their inner gifts and bring them to life on stage as they act, sing, and dance their way through the week! On the final day of camp, our little oruguitas will blossom into butterflies as they dazzle in a magical musical theatre showcase for family and friends. Students will learn the fundamentals of what it means to be a theatre director, gaining both basic and advanced skills in directing for the stage. Campers will get the opportunity to direct their peers in short plays written by our talented teen writers in our Playwriting Camp! All campers will get to perform as well as direct in these short original plays, ending in a final showcase open to family and friends. Participants will quickly gain high-level skills in the areas of characterization, scene work, improv, and monologue, culminating in a theatre showcase. Is your young performer a budding comedian? Do they have an active imagination? Do they love to “make ’em laugh”? Join us this summer in our Imaginative Improv Camp! Our young comedians of all experience levels are sure to have a laugh a minute as they make friends and gain essential improv comedy skills that will get ‘em “rolling in the aisles,” including character and scene creation, physical comedy, and improv games and activities! On the final day of camp, family and friends will be treated to an improv comedy show featuring our campers! Calling all adventurers, demigods, and sea creatures! We know you’ll say “you’re welcome” to your parents for signing you up for Ocean Overtures this summer! Come and see “how far you’ll go” as we sing, dance, and act out our awesome aquatic adventures on stage! Our heroes will perform for family and friends in a musical theatre showcase on the camp’s final day.
