Students in our Elementary Performance Camp, admitted by audition only, will develop high-level musical theatre skills while making friends and having fun as they rehearse and prepare for a ticketed production Shrek the Musical KIDS open to the public! Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in this show based on the film and Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. Join this wacky show for 2 weeks full of music, dance, and acting rehearsals whilst also focusing on themes of bravery, friendship and fun!

Times: 9 AM to 4 PM July 13-23, 9 AM to 9 PM July 24 (7 PM show), 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM July 25 (2 PM and 7 PM show, strike)
Location: July 13-22 at First Congregational Church of Winter Park (225 S Interlachen Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789), July 23-25 at Trinity Preparatory School Auditorium (5700 Trinity Prep Lane, Winter Park, FL 32792)
Please Note: Auditions are required to enroll in this camp, which is open to advanced young performers, and not all students will be selected for this advanced camp. Auditions will determine whether or not a student is admitted to this camp, and callbacks will take place on the first day of camp, July 13, to determine roles.
Audition Information: Students may either send in a virtual audition, or attend in person auditions and audition for our Spring productions (James and the Giant Peach or Once Upon a Mattress Youth Edition) at the same time! Click here to register for in-person auditions on January 16, January 17, March 6, or March 7, or email a video of one or two monologues from these options, and 30 to 60 seconds of your student singing any musical theatre style song to a karaoke/accompaniment track to theatre@cfcarts.com to audition virtually. Dance videos, headshots, and resumes are also accepted but not required.
