Reneé Cartee

Reneé Cartee

Director

Read Bio

Reneé is an educator and teaching artist. She has over 16 years of experience with PK-5 general music and middle school chorus, drama, musical theatre, band, and photography. She has been with CFCArts as a parent and volunteer for over 10 years assisting and supporting with coaching, props, special events, and front of house. She began working with the CFCArts Youth Theatre Program in 2022 and is happy to be a part of such an inclusive fine arts family! Reneé received a Bachelors of Arts, Liberal Studies, concentrating in Music Education, Interpersonal Communication, and Visual Arts from University of Central Florida. Further, she received a Graduate Arts Management Certificate, Gifted Endorsement and Masters of Nonprofit Management. She loves her Black and Gold! Go Knights! Reneé enjoys teaching, singing, painting, playing clarinet and saxophone, traveling and supporting her three children and husband in their own endeavors.

Walker is so enthusiastic to be a part of his first show as Assistant Director. Shows previously directed include Monstrous, Jumping, How to ______ in High School, and The Trolley Problem. Previous onstage roles include Luke/Ares/Gabe (The Lightning Thief), Ducker (Firebringer), Billy Flynn (Chicago), Scuttle (The Little Mermaid), Colin Craven (The Secret Garden), Leo (Too Much About K-Pop), Friedrich Von Trapp (The Sound of Music), and Cinderella’s Prince (Into the Woods). When not behind the director table or on stage, Walker enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons, and ballet. He wants to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the arts and hopes you enjoy Annie Jr.

Christina has been a music director of youth theater for 30 years. She has directed the music for numerous productions in the California and Illinois public school systems, as well as for private theater companies. She teaches general/vocal music, chorus, voice, composition/theory and guitar and is a vocal coach for young singers. Christina has a B.A. in voice and composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston and a Masters in Music Education from UCLA.

Walter holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He taught middle and high school English, theatre, and television arts for seven years before taking on the role of costume loft manager at San Diego Junior Theatre, the oldest children’s theatre in the country. In addition to costuming at SDJT, he directed and choreographed multiple productions including The Wizard of Oz and Babes in Toyland. After leaving San Diego, Walter serves as the Executive and Artistic Director of his childhood theatre, Strauss Youth Academy for the Arts, in northeast Louisiana. There, he directed and/or choreographed multiple productions each year including Shrek, Seussical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Legally Blonde. Upon the birth of his daughter in 2019, he transitioned to a new career as a software developer to spend more time with her, but now that she is exploring the world of the stage, he is excited to return to the theatre and is especially excited to have found a home for him and his family in CFCArts.

Olivia is originally from Moore, Oklahoma and has been participating in theatre and choir since she was five years old. She received her BA in Theatre in 2016 focusing on Stage Management and Directing. She is excited to return to the theatre world with the CFCArts stage management team!

Originally from Richmond, VA, Jack is an aspiring artist in the Orlando community. He has a huge passion for the arts and is thrilled to be sharing his love to young, aspiring artists. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater with a Concentration in Directing and Dramatic Literature from Christopher Newport University. He is thrilled and thankful to be joining the Central Florida Community Arts team.

Christina is thrilled to be returning to the team at Central Florida Community Arts for another season. Last summer, Christina relocated to Central Florida from Southern New Hampshire, where she spent the last ten years performing in theatre, film, and commercials in the Boston area. While there, Christina also discovered her passion for teaching theatre; developing and delivering a one-week Shakespeare workshop for 8th grade ELA students, as well as an eleven-week theatre program for YMCA campers that ran under her direction for two summers. Additionally, since her graduation from the Hartt School with a BFA in Acting, Christina has completed two national touring seasons with National Theatre for Arts and Education, four national touring seasons with National Theatre for Children, performed internationally at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and worked for two years as a core company member for Gamut Theatre Group in Harrisburg, PA. Since her move to Florida, Christina has worked as a teaching artist with CFCArts on their productions of Elf the Musical, Winnie the Pooh, Disney’s Aladdin Jr., Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Jr., and for a number of their theatre camps. Some of Christina’s favorite performance roles include Gilda Radner in Bunny, Bunny: A Sort of Romantic Comedy, Constance in King John, Montressor in Poe: Much of Madness, Nikki Neutron in The Energized Guyz and the Conservation Caper, over 30 characters in The Iliad, The Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 90 Minutes or Less, and Dr. Novak in the independent film Uncanny Harbor (for which she had her first red carpet premiere). Christina can’t wait to continue to discover, and help develop, all of the incredible talent in the CFCArts community!

Samantha is excited to be joining the CFCArts team for this production. She has been involved in theatre since she was in middle school and has experience on stage and off. She most recently was the assistant director for The Wind in the Willows. She has worked as a stage manager, and in props and costuming. She also has worked as a teacher for many years, with kids age infant up to high school. She’s excited to be stepping back into the theatre world!

Makayla is a 21 year old Central Florida performer, dance teacher and theatre tech. You can usually find her backstage at Osceola Arts theatre in Kissimmee! This is her first show with the CFCArts Youth Theatre Program and she could not be more excited!

Geordi is from Grand Rapids, Michigan and her passion for theater stems from her background in dance, especially ballet. She spent three years studying at the Joffrey Ballet School in Chicago and two Summers as the Song, Dance and Drama instructor at Van Buren Youth Camp. She loves her job as a cast member in Entertainment at Walt Disney World and is thrilled to get involved in community theatre!

Bethany is a multi-faceted theater professional and dedicated educator recognized for her exceptional skills as a teaching artist and her unwavering commitment to empowering young people through the transformative influence of theater. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University (OH) and received her MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences through the University of Central Florida.

Lucia has been working and performing with CFCArts for about ten years now and she is very excited to start working with your kids! She graduated from the Osceola County School for the Arts where she studied vocal music and theatre tech. She has been performing since she was two when she started dance, and just recently started teaching with CFCArts for their summer camps. The arts have always been a big part of Lucia’s life and she can’t wait to share that with others!

Richard is excited to be part of the staff at CFCArts. He has been involved in various theatres for over 20 years. He has served in multiple roles from actor to director as well as costume designer. He has directed and costumed such shows as Pinkalicious, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Frozen Jr, Little Women The Musical, Charlotte’s Web, and Junie B. Jones. He holds a B.S. in Education as well. He is excited to watch the next generation fall in love with theatre as he has.

Piper is so excited to be working with CFCArts as a staff member after previously being a CFCArts student for the majority of her high school career. She has worked backstage/performed in various productions since she was in elementary school. Some of her favorite credits include: Matilda, Murder on the Orient Express, and A Christmas Carol. She has also served as an apprentice with Orlando Family Stage multiple times. Piper is currently studying theatre and psychology at UCF. She hopes to become a therapist while also working in theatre.
