Students in Grades 3 through 12 this school year: Join us for our Youth Theatre Troupe and Children’s Chorus Fall 2026 Musical: A Christmas Carol the Musical!

Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he’s forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful “Happy Christmas” before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him.

The CFCArts Youth Theatre Programs have a beloved tradition of producing this show for the holidays every three years. This is our third time producing A Christmas Carol – join us for our very special holiday tradition!

There are two ways for students to participate onstage in A Christmas Carol the Musical, both requiring an audition:

  • Children’s Chorus – Students in 3rd through 6th Grade (or younger, at the discretion of the directors – please email theatre@cfcarts.com for more information) may audition for the Children’s Chorus! This group of talented young performers will be featured in pivotal moments of our production as Townspeople and Angels. These students have limited rehearsals.
  • Troupe – Students in 3rd through 12th Grade, playing Supporting and Lead roles (Character descriptions and the script will be provided in advance.) This group of advanced, pre-professional young performers will be featured in the entire show in acting, singing, and dancing roles with rehearsals throughout the week as called. In-person auditions are required; please see below for information.

Tuition

There is a seasonal $35 registration fee per student, which covers all enrollments in Youth Theatre Programs from August through December 2026. Registration Fees are now a part of the overall tuition cost! If your student participates in more than one production with us in a season (for instance, if your Children’s Chorus student is also in Disney’s Moana Jr. earlier in the semester), you will be sent a special coupon code that will subtract the $35 registration fee from your student’s tuition payment - it’s a “thank you” from us!

Payment can be made on the Registration Form.

Tuition for all performers is as follows: (scholarships and payment plans available; see below.)

    • Children’s Chorus - $235 ($200, if student previously paid $35 registration fee for Disney’s Moana Jr.)
    • Troupe - $310

There are four ways to cover tuition:

1.
Complete the tuition payment in full via the
Registration Form (you will receive an email with instructions following auditions for those selected) or by bringing cash or a check (made out to CFCArts) to your student’s first week of rehearsal (please email theatre@cfcarts.com to confirm that you will be bringing payment in person.)

    • Troupe tuition payment is due no later than Friday, September 4, the first week of their rehearsals.
    • Children’s Chorus tuition payment is due no later than Friday, November 6, the first week of their rehearsals.

2.
Select the option on your
Registration Form to set up a tuition payment plan. Once a payment plan has been determined, you will be sent a payment link via email.

    • Payment deadlines for the Troupe, each for 25% of tuition ($77.50), are: Friday, September 4; Friday, October 2; Friday, November 6; and Friday, December 4.
    • Payment deadlines for the Children’s Chorus, each for 50% of tuition ($100 if your student was in Disney’s Moana Jr., $117.50 if they were not), are: Friday, November 6; and Friday, December 4.

Registration Form to be considered for a need-based scholarship for this program. Once a scholarship amount has been determined, you will be sent a payment link via email. Any remaining balance for your student’s tuition will be due no later than Friday, December 4, two weeks prior to tech rehearsals starting. Students must have their remaining tuition balance paid in full to perform in the production. Payment of the remaining balance may be made via the Payment Form or by bringing cash or a check (made out to CFCArts) to your student’s rehearsal (please email theatre@cfcarts.com to confirm that you will be bringing payment in person.)

      Financial Assistance

CFCArts is a Florida Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES, formerly Gardiner Scholarship) provider, and the FES can be used to cover program tuition! CFCArts financial assistance is also available and can be applied for on your Registration Form.

      Service Project

Central Florida Community Arts exists to serve and build community through the arts. With our mission in mind, our Youth Theatre Program students for each production have the opportunity to participate in a service project to benefit another non-profit organization in Central Florida - and to build friendships and bond with their castmates! These service projects are carefully selected to align with the message of the story that our students are telling on stage.

For this production, we are proud to partner with United Against Poverty. Fifteen representatives from our cast and three chaperones will be visiting United Against Poverty Orlando on Friday, September 11 from 5-7 PM to assist with their Member Share Grocery Program (MSGP). The MSGP is an accessible, dignified, food assistance program where individuals and families can personally select food and household items suited toward their needs. Just as the Christmas spirits persuade Scrooge to consider the poor and hungry in London, there are people in our own community who also need a helping hand. This is where United Against Poverty comes in, and we are happy to help them serve those in need!
