Wish Upon A Star – A Disney Revue
Show Dates: May 11th and May 12th at 7:30pm
Location: Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Rd, Longwood FL, 32750
Summary: This spring, Central Florida Community Arts presents the Central Florida Community Choir and Symphony Orchestra in “Wish Upon a Star”, a Disney revue. Following up on their successful 2012 production of “When You Wish”, the music of Disney, the CFCArts Community Choir returns having nearly doubled in size since 2012 to over 300 voices. Featuring moments from such storybook classics as “Cinderella”, “Peter Pan” and “The Jungle Book”, to more present day blockbusters like “Hercules”, “Frozen” and “The Lion King”, this fully produced, multimedia experience will take the audience on a journey through the expansive worlds of Disney. Find out what happens when you “wish upon a star”!
Spring Community Choir Kickoff
Date: KICKOFF Monday, February 6th at 7:00 P.M. at Central Florida Community Arts 250 SW Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32804.
Rehearsals Begin: February 6th- May 8th Every Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Central Florida Community Arts 250 SW Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32804.
Tuesday rehearsals are optional beginning Tuesday, February 14th 7-9pm at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church 4851 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819. There is no Tuesday rehearsal on the last week of each month.
About the Directors
Joshua earned a B.A. Degree in General Education/Music at Palm Beach Atlantic University and has been a Worship Pastor, Fine Arts Director and Executive Producer of Central Florida Christmas Celebration. He has lead adult and youth choirs and orchestras with memberships exceeding 300 and has been a producer, director, vocal coach and clinician in many of his ministry and educational roles. Joshua was employed by Walt Disney World for 5 years, most recently as an entertainment leader. He is an arts consultant and a member of Leadership Orlando, Central Florida Partnership, Young Nonprofit Professional Network and a Member Partner of Visit Orlando.
A Native Floridian, Brandon began singing and playing piano at a young age. He was a member of the Bach Festival Children’s Choir. He directed his first choir at age 15 and has continued to direct choirs and ensembles since. He was an All-State Musician in 2003 and graduated from Seminole State College, where he studied Music. He currently works in Entertainment at Walt Disney World.
A graduate of UMKC Conservatory of Music, Kevin has led choirs and orchestras, music camps and conferences all over the nation. His company, Harrisland Studios, provides voice coaching and training, song writing, arranging and production. He is the Music Minister for Windermere Union Church and a sub for Voices of Liberty at Walt Disney World. His philosophy is that music is a special gift that binds us together, touches our soul and helps us become one family.
Playing since age 6, Gale studied piano for 11 years from private teachers and at Cadek Conservatory Chattanooga. She started accompanying high schools choirs and ensembles when she was in ninth grade and has served as church accompanist at South Seminole Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN, and First Baptist Oviedo, FL. Gale works full time at Siemens Energy, Inc.
Jennifer discovered her love for playing piano at the age of 6 and hasn’t stopped playing since. She continued her music education in college with a Minor in Piano Performance. She has been a featured piano soloist with the CFCArts orchestra. She currently is following her dreams as a musician full-time and is an accompanist for CFCArts and many other organizations. She can also be seen as a featured pianist and singer in various venues around Central Florida.
