The Sound of Music (Grades 3-12)

Students entering Grades 3 through 12 this school year looking for an audition-only theatre experience: Join us for the Broadway musical The Sound of Music!

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows a postulant full of joie de vivre who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain Von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire Von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

If your student is not old enough, does not wish to audition, or would like to participate in a virtual program, please consider enrolling in our Youth Theatre Companies programs Rock On! and Disney’s Moana Jr. for Grades PreK-12! Students may audition for Rock On! at the same time as The Sound of Music and The 39 Steps, while auditions for Disney’s Moana Jr. will take place later this semester!

CFCArts is a Gardiner Scholarship provider, and the Gardiner Scholarship can be used to cover program tuition! CFCArts scholarships are also available.
