A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. Puck, a mischievous fairy, plays tricks on four Athenians in the forest, making two men fall in love with the same woman. The four lovers run through the forest in pursuit of one another while Puck also helps his master to trick the fairy queen. As COVID-19 began to alter our ability to perform live Theatre for awhile, the team behind the Theatre program at CFCArts leapt to action in efforts to continue to produce Theatre even in the midst of a global pandemic, and that is how our Audio-Play version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream was born. Recorded in the homes of our actors, this audio-play allowed our actors to safely create despite the challenges we faced as a Theatre company in the world of COVID-19. We encourage you to curl up in a candle-lit room or to put in your headphones and enjoy Shakespeare’s language in a new way. Half of all sales for this Audio-play will go to the artists who worked to create it, and the other half will contribute to the on-going sustainability of the Theatre Program at CFCArts!
