Arts in Action
Beginning with the Winter Park Health Foundation and in partnership with numerous organizations, Central Florida Community Arts brings the arts to the Older Adults in our community with Arts in Action! This collaborative program offers a variety of classes and experiences across 5 disciplines: Music, Drama, Dance, Art, & Creative Writing. Participants must register in advance as space is limited. Scholarships are available.

About the Directors
With a degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University, Kaileigh Anne has had diverse experiences working with students of all ages. She has over 13 years experience in music education, in addition to credits in directing, pit conducting, stage-managing, and multi-disciplinary curriculum design. Her passion for the arts began at 2 years old and has translated to a professional career committing to arts equity for all. She is most passionate about writing arts curriculum for students with varying abilities. She is the designer of CFCArts’ UpBeat! Program which was just awarded the 2020 International Hamilton Arts & Innovation Award through the National Organization for Arts in Health (NOAH). Kaileigh Anne is a proud advocate on the topic of Arts Accessibility presenting at conferences across the nation.
Spring Season

Beginner Ukulele

Fridays at 1:30pm | Maitland Public Library (501 S Maitland Ave. Maitland, Florida 32751)
Learn the fundamentals of the uke including tuning, hand positions, chord fingerings, strumming patterns, and the fundamentals of reading music. Best of all, students will learn to play and sing songs quickly in a relaxed atmosphere.
Registration is free through a partnership with Maitland Public Library.

Yoga to Music

This course offers a time for self-reflection while students listen to peaceful music and stretch their bodies through yoga-styled movements and postures.
Summer Season
The Cabaret Studio

Thursdays at 6pm | CFCArts Main Campus (250 SW Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32804)
A group of adults (18+) who love to sing and perform! Join Jill Dautzenberg for a 6-week class in how to perform in a cabaret style using song, storytelling, and engaging with both your fellow musicians and the audience. Each class is 90 minutes long and will guide students through repertoire selection, performance techniques, and working as soloists or in small ensembles. The class will culminate in a cabaret performance, and no experience necessary!

Narrators
CFCArts Narrators!, with Chris Hicks
Fridays at 10am | CFCArts Black Box Theatre (250 SW Ivanhoe Blvd. Orlando, FL 32804)
A group of older adults (55+) who have a desire and a mission to give back to the community by performing and to have a lot of fun doing it. Acting experience is certainly not required, but each participant should have the confidence to speak in front of a group. Each class session is 90 minutes long and features vocal warm-ups, and senior-friendly theatre games designed to get participants laughing and imaginations active. The group spends the bulk of the class working on scripts which can be presented without memorization and with as much or as little movement as the participants are comfortable with. This group will perform in person at our community partners locations throughout the season. These performances will consist of improv games, prepared monologues and short scenes chosen based on performer availability.
