CFCArts Programs for Arts & Wellness

Musical Minds Choir

Musical Minds Choir is geared toward adults experiencing the early stages of memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Choir members are accompanied by their care partners who are welcome to sing with the choir or sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful music. Being a member of the Musical Minds Choir will provide you an opportunity to meet others who are also living with memory loss and have some fun while exercising the brain. Research findings suggest that being part of making music such as singing or playing an instrument, or simply listening to music can be a great way to stimulate the brain and help promote brain health.

Fall Virtual Program: Free live virtual music program where care partners and adults with early stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease can sing along to live music from across the decades and genres. Lyrics will be provided and no prior music experience is required. Wednesdays 10-11am on Zoom.

Fall In-Person Program: Free live music program where care partners and adults with early stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease can sing along to live music from across the decades and genres. Upbeat! Musical Theatre Troupe

CFCArts’ UpBeat! Theatre Troupe is a performance group for youth, teen, and young adult exceptional learners. UpBeat! produces multiple performances each year, including both plays and musicals. UpBeat! is open to actors with a variety of exceptionalities, including (but not limited to) autism, Down syndrome, and ADHD.

Through the UpBeat! program, actors will have the opportunity to attend virtual or in-person small and full group rehearsals. Individual rehearsals (one-on-one) will also be available upon request.

Join us this season for a spectacular mixed media production in A Night of Seuss! This performance will feature performers of all ages telling the greatest fantastical stories of our time. From the mischievous Cat In the Hat, to the heartwarming Horton, and the insightful Lorax, this musical theater program will offer all students a chance to shine through singing, dancing, and acting.
