The Academy

The CFCArts Academy offers affordable performing arts lessons and classes to artists of all ages and experience levels! Opportunities for children and adults to learn voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, and strings are available in private studio spaces. Classes & Workshops are offered to teach students of varying levels to love and perform music. All classes and lessons are offered by experienced, professional teaching artists in a supportive environment that is conducive to learning.

Private Lessons

Fall Season: August 8 – December 10

Looking to explore the performing arts or get an extra boost for that next audition or performance? We have private lessons available in voice, piano, guitar, acting, as well as brass, wind, and string instruments. Lessons start at $35 an hour, and we are now offering both Virtual and In-Person lessons for the Fall season beginning August 8! Scholarships* are available by request on a sliding scale.

Tuition for CFCArts Academy lessons varies according to the level of the Teaching Artist with whom you or your student studies. CFCArts Academy Teaching Artists range from Level One to Level Three, depending on their experience, education, and skill.

*Scholarships are available for students with a demonstrated financial need. Please email to begin the scholarship application process.
**Trial Lessons for new students are 30 minutes long, and will be charged at the level of the Teaching Artist conducting the trial lesson. Trial lessons help to assess the best fit between a new student and Teaching Artist.
***Flex Lessons are lessons for students who cannot commit to a weekly lesson for any reason. Flex lessons are available on a first come, first serve basis and can be scheduled according to the both the student’s and teacher’s availability. Students can schedule flex lessons one at a time or multiple lessons for the month.

Group Classes

The Cabaret Studio

A group of adults (18+) who love to sing and perform! Join Jill Dautzenberg for a 10-week class in how to perform in a cabaret style using song, storytelling, and engaging with both your fellow musicians and the audience. Each class is 90 minutes long and will guide students through repertoire selection, performance techniques, and working as soloists or in small ensembles. The class will culminate in a cabaret performance, and no experience necessary!

Season: September 14 – November 16
Time: Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm

Introduction to Ukulele for Teaching Artists

With Mary Anne McGowen

Calling all teaching artists, aspiring and professional musicians 18 and above to join us for a unique, 2-day workshop in beginner ukulele. Students will learn the fundamentals to accompany themselves on the ukulele, including tuning, hand positions, chord fingerings, and strumming patterns, as well as some basic repertoire. Ukuleles are available to rent and scholarships available upon request! Please email for more information.
