The Academy

The CFCArts Academy offers affordable performing arts lessons and classes to artists of all ages and experience levels! Opportunities for children and adults to learn voice, piano, guitar, and strings are available in private studio spaces. Classes & Workshops are offered to teach students of varying levels to love and perform music. All classes and lessons are offered by experienced, professional teaching artists in a supportive environment that is conducive to learning.

Virtual Workshops & Classes

CFCArts is offering virtual classes at affordable prices for all different disciplines of the performing arts. Some classes are going to present age-specific offerings, including music classes geared toward different levels of K-12 students, classes for older adults, and some classes and workshops for everyone to enjoy!

“Let’s Go to the Movies” Family Singalong • Monday 6/8 at 5pm  • This free singalong will take place via Facebook live on the CFCArts Facebook

Join local artist, Charles Stevens, in a family friendly sing-along as he sings through some of his favorite songs from popular movies! This FREE family arts event will be hosted on June 8th at 5pm on the CFCArt’s Facebook Page! Hope to see you there!

Artist’s Toolbox: Intro to Voice Overs •  Monday 6/8 @ 6pm • Registration Required & Pay What You Can, with a $5.50 minimum

Interested in Voice Over work but, don’t know where to start? Then this workshop is for you! Join Professional Voice Over Artists, Patsy Gilbert, for an introductory class on voice over work! Learn what it takes to be a freelance V.O. artist including tips on how to get started, what tools you need, and how to prepare a reel.  Recommended for Aspiring Performers – Teens, Adults & Seniors.

 On Your Feet 15-Minute Dance Class •  Tuesday 6/9 @ 10am • Free & No registration required!

Dance for Seniors • Tuesday 6/9 @ 10:30am  • Registration Required & Pay What You Can, with a $5.50 minimum

This class offers a unique blend of classic dance warm-ups and Pilates-based stretch/strength exercises; warm-ups transition into short dance combinations, pulling inspiration from jazz to Broadway, even tango and flapper moves! All are modified to progress at a pace comfortable for each individual. Whether you danced as a child and want to rekindle your passion, or you’re discovering dance for the first time, it’s never too late to start dancing!

Join local artist, Grace Sellers, as she teaches the basics of watercolor! Recommended for kids, teens, adults and seniors! All you need is a basic palette of water colors, watercolor paper, tape, salt, paint brush, a cup of water, paper towels, plate or pan for mixing colors and hair dryer (optional).

Music Therapy – Wednesday Winddown •  Wednesday, 6/10 @ 7pm • Free & No registration required

Join us for a music therapy relaxation exercise to help you wind down every Wednesday evening on the CFCArts Facebook Page, led by CFCArts’ Board Certified Music Therapist, Ashley Lewis. No instruments or music experience necessary to participate – all people, all ages, all abilities welcome.

No registration required. Just visit the CFCArts Facebook Page on Wednesdays at 7pm or any time to enjoy this relaxation exercise.

Ukulele for Seniors • Thursday 6/11 @ 10am  • Registration Required & Pay What You Can, with a $5.50 minimum

Join CFCArts’ ukulele expert, Rick Lucchesi, for a senior-focused ukulele class! This course will teach the fundamentals of the uke including tuning, hand positions, chord fingerings, strumming patterns, and the fundamentals of reading music. Best of all, students will learn to play and sing songs quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. All levels of musicians are welcome, from beginner to advanced. This course is for Seniors, ages 55 and older!

This course will teach the fundamentals of the uke including tuning, hand positions, chord fingerings, strumming patterns, and the fundamentals of reading music. Best of all, students will learn to play and sing songs quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. All levels of musicians are welcome, from beginner to advanced. Recommended for kids, teens, and adults.

Virtual Private Lessons

CFCArts Academy is offering affordable virtual private lessons for artists (and aspiring artists) of all ages. One-on-one acting, piano, voice, guitar, violin, and other instrumental lessons are happening from the comfort and safety of home through the use of Google Hangouts.
