SINGING

Adult Performance Prep

What is a gig versus an audition? Why do we perform? What are the dos and don’ts? What do you consider your personal style? Discover who you are as a performer and learn to apply what you do best to other performance situations. Use your strengths to explore different genres to expand your working & performing opportunities. It’s not enough to know a couple of songs and have a résumé, learn to create your diversified 3-song set in addition to learning the basics of self-marketing.

Dates: Mondays 6:00 – 7:00 pm (August 29- November 14) *No class on Labor Day- September 5

Tuition: $200, includes a single, 1 hour coaching session with instructor

Women’s Ensemble

This class takes intermediate to advanced level female singers ages 18 & up and explores harmonization and performance techniques as a group. The group will learn several songs of different genres and create a performance for the end of the semester. Prerequisite: student must have completed four vocal lessons in the school or complete an evaluation with the instructor.

Preschool Ballet & Tumbling (3- 5 years old)

Your student learns the basics of ballet and how to safely tumble! This course will offer the basics of ballet technique, terminology, and ballet steps that will be the foundation of movement for later classes. Recommended attire: leotard, tights, and ballet/jazz shoes. If attire is unattainable, comfortable clothing in which the student can move is acceptable.

This course will offer the basics on ballet technique, terminology, ballet steps, and beginner jazz steps that will be the foundation of movement for later classes. As a beginner tap class this course will provide the basis for forming the student’s musicality and rhythm while learning basic tap steps and combinations of tap. Recommended attire: leotard, tights, and tap shoes. If attire is unattainable, comfortable clothing in which the student can move is acceptable.

Theatre

“Special Skills” Workshop Series: Improve the Last Line of Your Resume

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, be exposed to different aspects of theatre with our specialized workshops. Topics will change each month and include stage combat, accents, Shakespeare, and Commedia Del Arte (the art of the character).

Dates: Second Saturday of each month, 10:00 am- 1:00 pm (September 10th, October 8th, & November 12th)

Instrumental

“School of Rock” Class: Rock Band & Song Writing (Teens)

Designed for vocalists and instrumentalists, this program focuses on developing individual performance skills in a rock band setting. Weekly classes include band rehearsals, chart reading and writing, improvisation, theory, rock history, and learning popular songs in multiple genres. There will be an end of the semester concert as well as the potential serve our community through bookings. This course also lays the groundwork for writing music and lyrics as all students will be encouraged to explore songwriting at their own level. *Class is auditioned. An average level of experience in voice or instrument is required.
